My Next Educational Project on Simulation — CHIP16 in Simics

I’ve decided on the overall structure and goals of my next year Intel-MIPT educational project. It will be about making a model of CHIP16 system. CHIP16 is a gaming platform designed after real CHIP8 of mid-1970s. No real HW exists for it yet, but software is present. So who cares?

The main drawback of this “machine”— it does not reflect some crucial aspects of real HW. No interrupts, and CPU instructions are too powerful (a command to copy the whole rectangle into video memory? that is not what a CPU is meant to do). I’ll have to add couple of details.
